CodeLign is a ‘sandbox’ (a safe online environment) that gives access to some of LignUp’s call
control and media control web services without affecting a production system and without having to
write customized code or business logic. For example, you will be able to make a call from a web
page within minutes. Experience how quick and easy it is to voice-enable web applications, portals,
or business processes.
|
| |
|
Some of the things you can implement using LignUp’s CodeLign web services are make a call, put call
on hold, take a call off hold, broadcast a message, record a message, and have a three-way conference.
|
| |
|
Note: The LignUp Web Services presented in the CodeLign developer sandbox demonstrate the power of the LignUp
Integration Server and give developers access to a subset of functionality. Please note that LignUp Web
Services shipped as part of current and future product releases will contain additional
functionality. The web service interfaces in CodeLign may not exactly match those in the product.

|
You will first want to register on CodeLign. Upon registration, you will receive 800 free calls or
minutes initiated from the Level 3, one of the world’s largest and most advanced IP-optimized networks.
|
| |
|
Along with your basic information (first name, last name, valid email address, etc.) you will need
to include the following:
|
- Pre-registered ‘from’ number: this is your designated phone number that
will be used when you initiate calls from CodeLign’s web services. This number is used in conjunction
with your User ID. It may differ from your profile ‘Phone’ number, which may be used to contact you by
LignUp.
- User ID: this is your login and identifies you each time you use a CodeLign web service or API. Your calls are tracked based on your user ID, and your user ID is tied to your pre-registered number.
- Password: your password is limited to 5 – 18 alphanumeric characters. If you forget your password, you can receive a phone call to your pre-registered ‘from’ number.
|
| |
| Rules: |
|
We encourage developers to build and test voice applications with CodeLign web services.
However, to avoid abuse, every call, recording, and broadcast message is limited to a maximum of
one minute, which is enforced by disconnecting the calls automatically without notice.
|
| |
|
When you start out, the call counter is ‘0’ out of a maximum of 800. For example, each time you make a
call using CodeLign MakeCall web service, your call counter will go up by two because a web call counts
as two calls. If you broadcast a message, each recipient will count as one call.
|
| |
|
When your call counter reaches 800, you will be prompted to contact a LignUp representative to turn
on your services. You can also activate your web service sooner if desired.
|
| |
|
You cannot register with the same pre-registered phone number or user ID more than once.

After you register and log in, read the “Getting Started” section and learn what CodeLign has to offer.
